I’m Simon Kern — Battle Programmer Simon — a Stockholm-based developer and currently a Product Owner. This domain used to run a Next.js portfolio with a small Rust service powering a chatbot “AI-me” that explained my projects. It was a fun lab (and, honestly, cheap because hardly anyone talked to robot-me), but I wanted something quieter, faster, and closer to how I like to build.
Why I rebuilt this site
I landed a full-time role, so I’m no longer building projects to chase postings. Instead, I rebuilt this as a fast, static site that I control end-to-end: plain HTML, one CSS file, tiny or zero JavaScript. I still code off-hours — just for curiosity and craft. Expect fewer “hire-me” demos and more honest blog about what I’m learning.
What this place is
Think of this as my engineer’s notebook: concise write-ups, reproducible snippets, and small tools I actually use. I like Linux, terminal UIs, systems stuff, and the web’s simple parts that age well.
Latest posts
No cookies, no trackers, no nonsense. If anything here loads slowly, that’s a bug, if there are 404, it's prob a placeholder for content that's on it's way — and I’ll fix it.
